11/02/09 - Hiroshige's "Red Fuji" seemed like the perfect setting for Cam's favorite character, Goku...and with all the clouds I figured a young Goku on his cloud would fit just right. Cam had the great idea for my gifts today, that he and Logan paint my pint glasses... Cam decided to paint Domo on it... I was laughing and it was so perfect. He is very talented!At dinner I saw him sneak out to talk to the server... he wanted to make sure I got a cake on my birthday so he asked them if they could get one. He is so thoughtful like that. He was glowing from ear to ear when I blew out the candle...at least it was only one :) Cam made me the Domo glass because , well we both like Domo, but also for Halloween I made him a Domo costume... it was the talk of the 6th graders that saw it...they couldn't stop talking about it all night. I think he liked it as he knew how much I put into it and he got to proudly display it !! I truley love making things for them, and he in return made something special for me tonight... and made it a night I never will forget. Thank you so very much Cam for being who you are...you make me a better person because of it... Love, Papa.

11/09/09 - Following the theme of "CN's best" I thought Samurai Jack would be a fun one to draw for Cam...the style of this cartoon was just so groundbreaking and amazing, just like Cam. He was such a huge help cleaning the deck for me this weekend down the Cape. I swear there had to be 1,000's of acorns along with the leaves and it was tedious picking them up...he just worked hard and determined, just like he does with his school work...no wonder he gets A's all the time. He did really catch me off guard Saturday night... He is the only one I can't hide my feelings from when I am down, he reads me like a book. He asked me what was wrong and I just told him I was fine and he said " No your not Papa, your not you" and came up and gave me a huge hug. Then he said " Just call me when you are ready for another one"... his sensitivity amazes me, he is just simply one of the kindest human beings I have ever known.

11/16/09 - another report card , another brilliant showing by Cam. Words escape me as to how smart this boy is! He doesn't even struggle with anything in his academic day, it's like second nature to him and I am so very proud of him. I could very easily see him as a Valedictorian... and I am not just saying that, he has the qualities, especially outside the academics, that would propell him to be such. Not only is he very intelligent but he is kind, compasionate, funny, and his constant state of bliss is infectious... infact I would even call him sublime. Cam has been begging me to do a set of bags with his cat, Forrest, on them...how could I say no after this weeks academic performance !! so Forrest it is, with a Stipple twist :)
